We can't help everyone but Everyone can help someone. My journey as a school student ended like others and I entered Government Medical College at Jamnagar (Gujarat, India) with great enthusiasm to serve in the medical field. In our daily routine, we were expected to take clinical rounds and history from patients in different wards. Within few days, along with clinical history taking, I realized the social loopholes in one's life. Education, nutrition, old age issues, ignorance of preventable diseases, and the struggle of differently abled children in society were a many heart-touching missing puzzles in a significant percentage of the population.
I completed the phase of my graduation in the Medical field (MBBS). For post-graduation selection of branch, I went to Dholka a small district of Gujarat for an ophthalmology career overview.
Here I happened to meet and work with Dr. Paresh Shah (Opthmologist) and Dr. Sangita Shah (Anasthetist). My mind ignited for social services with company of this dedicated couple. If we are fortunate enough we get such Infectious positive vibes in life! I understood after 3 months that ophthalmology was not my kin interest but why destiny attracted me to work with them. I realized at a very young age that "There is no key to happiness as the door is always open."
I took admission in post-graduation in Obstetrics and Gynecology again in Govt. College. In those days I understood problems of gender disparity, need of education, home delivery Complications, need of female empowerment at rural level etc. After completing post-graduation I entered my personal and professional life. Destiny is always ready to spread blessings when you have confidence to put positive efforts for any work. My Husband and family supported me, whole heartedly in all manner to balance my job, family and social work mission. I Worked with ESIS (Employee State Insurance Scheme, GoG) for 22 years. In between I finished up Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital and Health Management from IGNOU and LLB.
Again in various internships I was allotted various community based projects that gave another push for next level social services. Moreover Dr. Mehul Shah (MS Ortho Arpan Hospital) and Dr. Shubhangi Shah ( Anasthetist) enrolled me in their various social services focused on differently abled community. Dr. Shubhangi motivated and gifted me books to read specifically based on learning lessons of life philosophy. After entering ESIS, had an opportunity to work closely with all kind of workers who are earning a basic amount for running day to day chores and are doing a job in factories, cinemas, hotels, offices etc.
